Tom Nix (71) lives in Chico. Member, Ruben Martinez, introduced him to the OSC. As a retired general contractor, Tom has lots of experience in all phases of construction, remodeling, and maintenance. He skis a lot at Sugar Bowl and is excited to find to like-minded skiers on the summit.
Carrie Crespo (48) lives in Oakland and has two, five-year-old girls, Harris and Harlow. She loves to cross-country ski and is looking for an affordable way to get her girls to spend more time in the outdoors. Carrie works in communications, is a yoga teacher, is proficient in digital marketing, and is an avid home cook. Member Charles Vogl suggested the OSC might be a good fit for her.
Cory Busay (31) and Stacy Rutherford (29) are snowboarders living in Berkeley. They found the OSC when they walked past our booth at the Solano Stroll. Corey is a portfolio manager and Stacey is a civil engineer.
Alyssa (35) and Josh (34) Olenberg-Meltzer live in Oakland. Alyssa found out about the OSC during a stay at the Viking Lodge. They are back-country skiers and are looking for a home base for Tahoe adventures as they age out of sleeping in their car. Adventures in Tahoe include climbing, biking and hiking.
Robert (Bob) (74) and Lenore Bigsby (74) live on a boat in the Emeryville Marina for 6 months of the year to be close to their Berkeley family members. The other half of the year is spent in Indiana. Bob is a retired university professor and Lenore is a retired nurse. As a life-long handyman, Bob has remodeled four houses and builds furniture. We will have to find a work project or two for him in the winter!
Matthew Andrew (33) and his wife, Karli (31) have a young daughter, Charlotte, almost 2 years old. They live in Livermore. Matthew is a work colleague of member Juan DeOlivares. Matthew is a scientist and Karli is involved with product management. They love the mountains and are looking forward to introducing Charlotte to mountain activities.
Chuck Pinkert (42) lives in Alameda. He is a software engineer. Member Earl Stirling mentioned the OSC to Chuck in a Reddit Chat Room online. Chuck started skiing a year ago and has fallen in love with it. He is looking for other people that are crazy about skiing too.
Nicolas Gueninchault (37) lives in Oakland. He is a product manager at Zeiss. He learned about the OSC from colleague and member Juan DeOlivares. He is a native French speaker. Joining a community of people that share a love of the outdoors appeals to him.
Rita Koselka (57) and Brad Wallin (52) live in Oakland with their children, Lucas (17) and Natalia (16). They love to ski and read about the OSC on Nextdoor. Rita is a writer, consultant and journalist. Brad is an astrophysicist. Following a move to the area 5 years ago, they are looking to become active in the outdoors and to find a community to share activities.
